Art
Our K-8 Art classes weave art history into creative outlets for students to express themselves. Students showcase their best work at the end of the year Art Gala, which is always an impressive event! Click here for the curriculum.
Music
LLACS is one of the only schools in the area with a middle school jazz program. Students are provided with instruments of their choice and trained by two highly skilled musicians. Music class in K-5 introduces students to music, music history, and musical instruments so that students who show a passion for music can specialize in it when they reach 6th grade. Physical education/health
Students are encouraged to try new sports and learn about health and fitness in a positive setting where all students are accepted. Click here for the curriculum.
World language/spanish
Students in grades 3-8 take one trimester of Spanish in spiraling content that prepares them for the World Language requirement in freshman year of high school. Our Spanish curriculum is based on the NJDOE Model Curriculum for World Language and includes novels that introduce students to different cultures.
Technology
LLACS teachers at all grade levels integrate iPads into everyday classroom instruction; there are also three computers in each class, giving students easy access to 21st century technology that will help prepare them to compete in this dynamic global society as adults. The LLACS goal is to "infuse 21st Century technology across all curriculum areas in a relevant learner-centered environment that engages students and increases achievement."
